In 2014 WWM Civils was appointed by WW Martin Ltd to support the development of the new housing estate ‘Elmwood Park’ in Woodnesborough, and in January 2015 appropriate groundworks worth £1million commenced on the project site.
Two miles from the historic coastal town of Sandwich, Elmwood Park was formally an orchard on a sloping mound. WWM Civils stripped the site and appropriate infrastructure was adopted due to its countryside hilly location.
Site logistics and deliveries were planned in great detail to minimise access issues, and deep bore soakaways and attenuation tanks were installed for safe and efficient disposal of surface/foul water. Working with Kent Highways as an approved Section 278 Contractor, we ensured that the works were delivered to the high standards required by Kent County Council.
This development was constructed in a sensitive semi-rural location, with WWM Civils undertaking various hard and soft landscaping. During the delivery stage, careful consideration was given to minimise the impact of the works to local residents at all times.
Completed in February 2016, this new ‘Village’ is a unique development of 24 two, three and four bedroom houses individually designed and constructed to the highest of quality standards to suit the needs of modern living.
