Description

WWM Civils undertook the Groundworks on this site in Deal, Kent as part of the construction of 11 high-quality apartments for MildValley Developments.

Constructed on what was previously a brownfield site, the site was fully cleared, cleaned and tested. We worked on site to safely remove all contaminated ground material, adhering at all times to the remediation strategy that we had developed before commencing the works.

Designed as a model site with the Environment Agency, the site was constructed to survive 'worst-case' scenarios of flooding from global warming, rising sea levels & sea defence and overtopping breaches. To this extent, we undertook extensive drainage works and servicing trenches across the site. We also installed solid foundations for all properties, using reinforced concrete pillars at a depth of 8-12 metres below ground, topped with pile caps to provide a robust foundation solution.
