Description

Working closely with the National Trust we provided a new visitor car park to this popular visitor attraction in Kent.

The works involved:

• the removal of the existing topsoil,
• a reduced level excavation,
• installation of surface water drainage works and an associated interceptor,
• the placement and formation of the car park sub-base,
• laying perimeter sleeper edge restraint,
• new footway construction,
• new fencing and gates, and
• the application of a Golconda fine aggregate surface finish.

Additional parking areas were also created using a specialist turf product laid over a prepared sub-base formation.

All works were carried out with due consideration for the operational requirements of the adjacent property including the provision of access and egress for both pedestrian and vehicular movements on a day to day basis.
